    Modern form of communications not only at on-line education but in general is based on virtual communication where participants can observe distant spaces and see each other as if they were in one space of meeting. This course deals with basic principles for such communications.
    Modern technologies and concepts for education II
    The first part of the course deals with MOOC courses. The second part is dedicated to selected issues of creating open digital learning resources. The course also provides basic information about free licenses that are suitable for learning objects.
    Modern technologies and concepts for education III
    This course considers the current role of the university lecturer in engineering education and it describes the main elements that facilitate the task of being an effective teacher throw innovative methodologies in today’s context.
    Authentication, passwords and digital signing
    This course describes the concept of authentication, password-based authentication, its security, good practices and alternative passwordless authentication methods. It further describes the concept of digital signing and its background technologies and the public key infrastructure.
    JavaScript Document Object Model
    This course describes a quick overview of prior knowledge like HTML and JavaScript basics. The student will learn on Document object model in JavaScript – e.g. DOM navigation, methods, nodes, form validation, and changing CSS and changing tables with DOM.
    Virtualization in practice
    The course provides the reader with a basic overview of virtualization in various industries with an emphasis on IT, including practical examples.
    Green energy sources
    This course describes technologies, applications and basic concepts related to most relevant sources of renewable energies.
    Smart energy and Smart Grids
    This course deals with area of smart energy. It provides basic description of the electricity grid, power, electricity market and related processes as grid regulation. It introduces the area of metering, covers the basic mechanical meters as well as the most modern smart meters. It also describes the accompanying system solutions as Automated meter reading and Advanced metering infrastructure. And finally, it introduces the concept of smart grid and focuses with more detail on microgrids and concept of energy hubs.
